As wildfires continue to devastate southern Europe, Apple is backing relief efforts with a donation announced by CEO Tim Cook.

Apple donates to European wildfire relief

North America isn’t the only region struggling to combat the growing problem of wildfires; it’s an ongoing problem in Europe as well. According to the Joint Research Centre, more than 434,976 hectares have been burnt in 1,400 fire instances in 2026 alone.

Recent fires in southwestern France have burned so intensely that they created a fire-generated thunderstorm, according to CNN. Other countries, like Spain, Greece, and Italy, remain on high alert as the risk of wildfires grows across the region.
