While Apple’s main focus is on updating its 27-generation operating systems, it also periodically updates its previous releases. In one release to testers on October 6, Apple is preparing two such updates for macOS Tahoe and macOS Sequoia.
The release candidates of macOS 16.8.2 and macOS 26.7.2 mean Apple believes the updates are in a position where they can be released to the public. That could happen within days, unless a second RC round is needed.
