In the latest executive overhaul, Adrian Perica is getting his merger and acquisition responsibilities offloaded to long-time lieutenant Steve Smith.

A new CEO takes over, and roles shift. It’s effectively a fact of American business. The latest shuffle is a slight reorganization, with mergers and acquisitions moving to a new person.

According to a report on Thursday by Bloomberg, Steve Smith is Apple’s new M&A head. Smith was formerly Apple’s Senior Director of Corporate Development.

Formerly, Adrian Perica held that responsibility, as part of his overall role which incorporates Services management. Reportedly, Perica will just be focusing on iCloud, Fitness+, and News going forward.
