In the tale of two 2026 Mac minis, there is a more “Pro” oriented one, but as with the Mac Studio, it’s a complicated tale to tell.

The gap between the two Mac minis in 2026 is wider than you’d think at first glance. Like the Pro model before it, the M5 Pro Mac mini has Thunderbolt 5, far more cores, and faster memory.

It also adds a lot to the price. At $1,699, it edges toward Mac Studio territory. It’s a great computer, but it’s hard to recommend when you start adding upgrades.
