A team of hackers has come up with a new jailbreak for the iPhone, demonstrating how it persists with Lockdown Mode on, even after an update to iOS 27.2.

Lockdown Mode on iPhone is for users facing grave threats to their digital security
Lockdown Mode is Apple’s way to harden device security, intended to protect high-profile individuals from sophisticated cyberattacks. While Apple claimed back in March 2026 that it had managed a 100% protection rate since 2022, it seems it’s not completely impenetrable.
In a video posted to X, hacker group Calif shows an iPhone 18 Pro with Lockdown Mode enabled. A PDF is then sent to the iPhone using AirDrop and viewed.
