Apple has declared the iPhone X and 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro officially obsolete based on when they stopped being on sale, and repairs for the devices will no longer be offered.
Apple now classifies the iPhone X as an obsolete product.
Apple’s iPhone X, which launched in 2017, was the first iPhone to feature Face ID rather than a Touch ID Home button. It also brought an OLED screen to the iPhone, but that was almost a decade ago.
Apple classifies a device as “vintage” when it stopped distributing the product for sale more than five years ago, but less than seven years ago. After a device hasn’t been sold new for more than seven years, it’s designated as “obsolete.” The company offers service and parts for vintage products for up to seven years, provided replacement parts are available.
